For what it’s worth, Carfax has this particular Porsche registered as a base model 911 Carrera. Also, as a couple people pointed out to me, those stickers are from a reputable tuning company and not just pointless logos.

I gather you’re implying you don’t like it, though I really don’t understand why, it looks good, much better than a base Carrera...

I rather like it, without the decals and douchey license plate of course.

I read that as Minty Licks. Then I saw the title. Ohhhhhhh.

I read that as shock that someone would list a clearly not base model car as such.

A couple reasons I don’t like it.

1. I don’t care for plastering a road car with logos.

2. I don’t care for huge wings and body kits.

3. Body kits are excusable from the factory. But trying to make the car look like something it isn’t (such as a GT3) is very much not.

Those are my reasons for not loving it.

Wouldn’t mind if it were a GT3 or something.

So then why take the time to make a post crapping on someones elses car they clearly like and care about?

Except it is a base model Carrera with a body kit trying to make it look like a GT3. And the owner is clearly trying to make you think it is a much more expensive and faster car than it actually is.

So, most of you problem with it is it’s a tuner kit and not factory? It does seem to be high quality and doesn’t cheapen the look of the car, really, though the rims are not my cup of tea, they seem to come with the kit.

The original from Prior actually has a ducktail much like the SportsClassic, I do think that looks better.

I think it looks a bit more subdued than a GT3 RS, if anything at all, the only difference is the owner didn’t over pay out the ass for an RS and instead went to a (very high-end) tuner to get the job done, it’s more unique and maybe even cheaper, while still definitely looking like a 911, while I don’t think graphics look good on every car, I do think the 911 can wear them and not look horrible, but to each their own.

More to my point, you did think it was an RS correct?

It’s a bodykit form a tuner called Prior Design and I think it looks fantastic (whilst the normal kit with the duck tail looks better IMO)

Your logic is sound. I completely agree with you.

However.... I’d hoon the living shit out of that car.

I normally wouldn’t. Then I saw the plate.

I didn’t do much research into the actual tuning company before posting this. While it’s still not my cup of tea, I am definitely glad to hear that this is more than just a skin-deep series of modifications.

Well, if it were a GT3, then I’d be perfectly ok with it as is.

I’m usually not a fan of body kits, particularly the ones intended to convince others that you’re driving a rare/nicer model than you actually are, but this one I don’t mind.

The Porsche tuner scene is insane, there are tuners that will do you a Carrera S that is objectively faster than an RS or a 911R for like half the money and you end up with a unique car, some have so many options it is really hard to end up with two of the same car, some end up to be tacky but if you have taste it’s not so bad.

That’s why I have a distaste for all the hate Mansory gets, I know the show cars look crazy sometimes but there are some customer cars that look absolutely gorgeous...

Kinja'd!!!

Tuners are alright sometimes (and the Vivere is amazing and I want one)

Right. The reason my knee-jerk reaction was negative was due partly to the fact that I thought this individual was specifically trying to make a base model 911 appear as though it were a GT2 or GT3 (fooled me at first).

Also, I should elaborate. I thought this individual had a base model 911 that they had done up to make people think was a 911. I didn’t do any searching first like I normally do, which I should’ve because as it turns out this is a legitimate tuner vehicle.
